Update
I’ve been tracking my macros for about 5 months. I originally started
to lose weight, but I didn’t have a goal in mind at the beginning. Not
going to lie I was kinda skeptical, but here I am 5 months later with
amazing results that I love!
I started at 145lb, I’m not going to tell you all I did was change my eating habits, I didnt. I made a pact with myself that if I was going to do this I was going to put everything I had into setting a better example for my daughter. I hit the gym regularly, it has turned into something I enjoy, its my stress reliever, its my solitude, where I go to think, or get things off my mind. Soon into my lifestyle change I realized it was showing me the results I was looking for, I felt healthier, I was making better decision about what I was eating or how much I was eating. But it wasn’t unit my boyfriend mentioned how much of a difference he’d seen. I, of course, didn’t believe him so he sent a picture of me from before I started and one of me now. That was the brick wall I needed!!
I’m currently 138lb, now that might not seem much to you, but let me break it down this way.
Before I got pregnant with my daughter I was constantly 152lb. My weight at 40 weeks pregnant was 192lb. Not bad for a pregnancy weight gain, 40lbs. After I had my daughter I gave myself a grace period, but I soon realized the baby weight wasn’t melting off like I thought it should. By 3 months post pregnancy I was ready to fit in my normal pants. I am now 16 months (1 year 4months) post pregnancy and down to 138lb. In total, I’m down 14lbs from my “normal” weight!!! I went from wearing a size 10 jean to a size 4-6, from wearing a size lg shirt to a size med/sm.
More importantly then the weight I’ve lost is the fact that over the 5 months I’ve learned SOOOO much about health and about myself.
Figuring your Macros
The best way to do it is to find a calculator and stick to the same one. I personally use this website to do it. http://jenheward.com/macro-calculator/
My macros currently are
187 Carb, 125 Protein, 49 Fat with a total Calorie intake of 1679. Everyone’s different; my numbers won’t work for you like they do for me.
It’s definitely something that takes time to figure it out. But, I have found getting the MyFitnessPal ap has been a life saver! Makes tracking food soo much easier and helps keep you accountable.
The main thing you need to remember is it’s not a “diet” it’s a lifestyle change, and a choice. If you try it and it doesn’t work then it doesn’t work the only thing that’s holding you accountable is yourself and your end goal!
I’m far from my end goal, but every day I wake up and make a choice to eat healthy, and make good choices, and get to the gym, and be happy with my journey. Like anything else in life it has its ups and downs, I’m human, I give myself cheat days, and I usually regret it. But if there’s a donut, ill eat it, and enjoy it.
You have that choice, and I’m here to help/show/encourage/push/pump you up/tell you, you got this and you can do it and feel great in your skin and be happy with your body!

- Food is good, really good, haha, but whatever you eat, eat in MODERATION
- You don’t have to restrict yourself of your favorite foods!
- Never go more then 2 days NOT in the gym or working out
- Work hard, and set goals for yourself
- ALWAYS take a before picture, a progress picture, and an end picture
- BE PROUD of your accomplishments
- Make sure what you’re eating is really feeding you and your body. (we’ll go into it later)
- Have a great support system
- Do it for you, no one else can push you like yourself
- HAVE FUN DOING IT!!!!!
